Open source IT management solutions company Zenoss recently launched a new offering for service provider that helps them meet service level agreements (SLAs) while scaling affordably.

 

“Our legacy IT management solution wasn't designed specifically to support service providers interested in going deep into IT Process Automation,” said Ryan Henley, director of operational process and systems at OpSource, in a statement. “It could not integrate with other applications via standards-based APIs and would not provide access to the stored monitoring data. Zenoss was more powerful out of the box, much less expensive and the personalized service we have received from the company has been fantastic. We are seeing integration benefits whose effects will be felt both internally and externally with our customers.”

 

IT service providers—including hosters, MSPs, SaaS (News - Alert) Providers/ASPs, ISPs and ESPs—face the same kind of critical challenge in maintaining systems cost-effectively while delivering high quality services.

 

The Zenoss for Service Providers solution lets providers monitor and manage all customer environments from a single dashboard and configure branded views of each individual customer environment.

 

“Zenoss provides the reliability, scalability and deep functionality critical to the success of service providers, but it's a fraction of the cost of traditional IT management solutions,” said Bill Karpovich, co-founder and CEO of Zenoss, in a statement. “More importantly, Zenoss' open flexibility allows service providers to provide differentiated offerings to customers, offerings that their competitors using traditional IT management solutions cannot.”

 

With Zenoss for Service Providers, service providers can tailor the solution in such a way that can satisfy unique needs of customers and also enables positioning in the market.

 

“Hosters, service providers, and other people running The Cloud need management products that not only scale up to their high volume needs, but more importantly, are customizable to address a variety of unique requirements driven by the service provider's customer base,” noted Michael Cote, analyst at RedMonk, in a statement.

 

Cote went on: “Open source IT Management platforms would seem to be a good fit here as the price point is typically lower than behind-the-firewall oriented platforms and the overall spirit of access to the code and openness makes customizing and extending the platform possible, if not easier.”

 

The Zenoss solution uses a “pay as you grow” pricing structure so service providers can sign up for an annual subscription based upon current customer requirements and adjust the subscription quarterly as required.
