Infinitely Virtual Expands Operations into AIS San Diego Data Center

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Infinitely Virtual, a provider of virtual server technology, has expanded operations into American Internet Services (News - Alert) (AIS) San Diego data center.

American Internet Services is a West Coast data center and connectivity company, partnering with clients in their technology footprints and ensuring long-term business continuity.

With seven data center footprints in Los Angeles, San Diego and Phoenix, AIS helps businesses and corporations secure their colocation infrastructures inside an AIS technology fortress by ffering cabinet, cage and private suite footprints.

Officials with Infinitely Virtual said that the company was in need of additional space, and the AIS SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II-compliant data center in San Diego was a perfect location for its new footprint.

Company officials said that Infinitely Virtual's connection to the secondary space at the Lightwave Data Center (LWDC) via protected dual 10Gbps optical SONET ring was completed successfully without any client impact.

"As Infinitely Virtual continues to grow, we make massive investments into our hosting infrastructure. The addition of our secondary facility into the AIS Lightwave Data Center, with its multi-gigabit connectivity to its space inside the Los Angeles One Wilshire Data Center, will enable us to accommodate our intense growth and accelerate the release of new products and services," said Adam Stern, CEO and president of Infinitely Virtual and Altay Corp, in a statement.

According to AIS officials, the 80,000 square foot American Internet Services data center features over 12 megawatts of power, N+1 / 2N or better redundancy on all data center infrastructure, and 24 x 7 x 365 client support.

Physical security includes digital cameras, biometric hand scanners and interior card access.

Back in January, Infinitely Virtual had announced their installation of Windows 2008 for all Windows-hosting clients.

Windows 2008 will come standard on all packages, unless Windows 2003 is specifically requested by the customer for their unique technical needs.

Windows 2008 improves upon the performance of Windows 2003 by increasing security of computers running Windows Server 2008 and raising productivity, while simultaneously reducing administrative overhead through a simplification of virtualization management and a lowering of power consumption by server and client operating systems.
