tw telecom Expands Relationship with Global Manufacturer Actuant Corporation

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Actuant Corporation, a global industrial products manufacturer, reportedly has selected tw telecom to provide a suite of colocation, voice, data and Internet services.

Actuant is an existing tw telecom (News - Alert) customer, and the new multi-year agreement expands the services tw telecom will provide to the company.

“We had the benefit of already having been a tw telecom customer, so we knew the reliability and customer service experience tw telecom provides,” said Sagar Murthy, global IT infrastructure manager at Actuant, in a statement.

Murthy said that existing relationship, combined with tw telecom’s strong metro fiber network and co-location facilities, made it an easy decision to expand the relationship with them.

“Actuant has grown by focusing on platforms where the company can build meaningful positions and support its strategic growth initiatives,” said Jeff Lowney, vice president and general manager for tw telecom’s Milwaukee market.

Lowney said that the company is pleased that it has helped Actuant achieve this growth by giving the company strong cost and productivity efficiencies.

tw telecom is a provider of managed voice, Internet and data networking solutions for businesses.

TMCnet in December reported that Indiana Blood Center selected tw telecom to provide advanced voice, data and Internet services. According to a press release, the company will connect the center’s 11 locations located throughout Indiana. The Indiana Blood Center will also utilize tw telecom’s metro MPLS IP network for IP VPN telephony and intra-office communications.

In October, the company announced that industrial process automation provider Caltrol selected it to deliver advanced voice and data services across the company’s nine multi-state locations.

As part of the multi-year agreement, tw telecom will connect Caltrol’s headquarters in Las Vegas to tw telecom’s metro fiber network and nationwide IP backbone, as well as provide managed IP VPN services to the company’s eight additional locations in California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii.
