Intellifiber Activates New Low Latency Connectivity Between Chicago and Washington D.C.

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Intellifiber Networks (News - Alert) offers its services to address the mounting network requirements of enterprises, service providers and government markets. Recently, the company declared its plan to activate a new low latency network between Chicago and Washington D.C. This route is the provider of Gigabit Ethernet, 2.5 Gbps and 10 Gbps wavelength and Ethernet services that offers fastest roundtrip speeds available today. Presently, company’s services are being utilized by a number of major financial institutions and service providers.

In a release Clint Heiden (News - Alert) who is the president of Intellifiber Networks said that "Our purpose-built low latency network provides the fastest path for enterprises and carriers seeking secure and reliable routing between the Chicago and Washington D.C. metro areas. The need for low latency connectivity for applications covering financial trading, information sharing, gaming and media continues to grow rapidly.”

Besides that, Intellifiber's proficient metrics support all of its low latency service offerings. Main features of metrics include guaranteed installation intervals, 24 x 7 real-time latency monitoring and the most strict service level agreements in the industry.

“In the third quarter we will complete our network triangle, allowing seamless low latency connectivity between New York, Chicago and Washington D.C. We are also taking advantage of our unique network footprint to add low latency service in significant yet underserved markets such as the financial centers of Wilmington, Del., and Richmond, Va.", added Clint.

Every route segment makes the most of latest Ciena equipment in dispersion compensation technology for the reduction of latency. This helps the segments to achieve maximum speed. Also, Intellifiber's purpose-built low latency routes are designed to avoid telecom congestion points and provide diversity from common carriers. Every route is scalable with bandwidth solutions up to 100 Gbps.

Intellifiber's low latency architecture helps to offer direct access to downtown Washington D.C. and major data centers all through northern Virginia. In addition to that, Intellifiber network interconnects with other chief data, service provider and hosting facilities all over eastern United States.

Intellifiber Networks is an entirely owned subsidiary of Cavalier Telephone (News - Alert). The company owns and operates high-capacity fiber network across 17,000 route miles.
