Citrix Systems Launches Two New Appliances

Citrix Systems (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of network appliances and virtualization solutions, has introduced its new Citrix Branch Repeater VPX which is a WAN optimization virtual appliance, capable of providing, to large numbers of users, a high definition desktop and application experience.

 

In addition, the company has also announced the availability of its new Citrix Access Gateway (News - Alert) VPX that has been designed to provide secure access to remote and local users.

 

The newly launched appliances, according to Citrix, can be used in conjunction with its Citrix NetScaler products. Also, they are intended to extend the benefits of server and desktop virtualisation to virtual network services running at both the datacenter and the branch office.

 

The Citrix Access Gateway VPX is available now whereas Citrix Branch Repeater VPX will be made available by end of this month. The pricing details of the appliances have not been disclosed as yet. The company said that later in the year, an Express version of both appliances is expected to be made available for free download.

 

In related news, Citrix Systems, a noteworthy provider of virtualization, networking and SaaS (News - Alert) technologies, has implemented new Scale RequestCenter; to manage end user service requests for their internal IT operations.
