Fallen Earth Chooses Hosted Solutions for Colocation of Network Infrastructure

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Looking to colocate their network infrastructure equipment, the developers of “Fallen Earth,” the Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game announced it selected Hosted Solutions' data centers. This agreement is expected to provide 100 percent up time for Fallen Earth in areas such as power, bandwidth, cooling etc.

By colocating its infrastructure with Hosted Solutions, Fallen Earth looks to concentrate more on its core business of developing games. The company was looking for a provider who could guarantee maximum up time as players of the game are spread all over the world and do not tolerate any downtime.

Fallen Earth combines first-person shooter and traditional role-playing game designs. The game is still in its beta mode and features 70 towns, six competing factions, a classless advancement system and a crafting system in which players can make 95 percent of game items. The game is situated in the Grand Canyon where a lethal disease has wiped out the existence of mankind.

“Reliability is key, not only for firms like Fallen Earth, but for businesses of all kinds,” said Rich Lee, Hosted Solutions' Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

“Our customers cannot afford to fail. With five enterprise-class data centers located throughout the East Coast, we offer a superior level of quality and service that provides our customers with peace of mind and the ability to focus on their core business.”

With its agreement with Hosted Solutions, Fallen Earth can concentrate on providing the best gaming experience for its users, as Hosted Solutions will be handling the technical requirements needed to run the show.

In December, the company signed a deal with Britax Child Safety Inc., a child seat manufacturer. Hosted Solutions to handle dedicated services, bandwidth, firewall, servers, licenses, backups and full management for all Britax Web properties. Britax has a large web presence and needed to select a hosting provider with the ability to globally harmonize the company's sites spanning North America, Europe and Australia.
